Explore the Orthodox Church: An Invitation to Inquirers & Catechumens
Are you drawn to the rich traditions of the Orthodox Church? Whether you’re Orthodox or not, a serious seeker of spiritual truth, or simply curious about our faith and practices, this class is tailored for you. We welcome everyone desiring to deepen their understanding of the Orthodox Church, Her Faith, and Her Practices.

Questions are not only allowed but encouraged, as long as they maintain the respectful flow of the class. Remember, in the journey of faith, there are no irrelevant questions!

Welcome to the Journey of Faith: Class for Inquirers & Catechumens Begins Soon!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christ is in our midst!
It brings me immense joy to extend to you a warm welcome as you begin the Class for Inquirers & Catechumens. This special journey we are about to embark upon is not just an academic exercise; it’s a pathway to the eternal Kingdom, a spiritual sojourn into the richness of Orthodox Christianity. As it is written in John 3:15, “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
This class serves as an introduction to the timeless traditions, sacred rituals, and divine truths of the Orthodox Christian faith. Over the course of several weeks, we will delve deep into the Holy Scriptures, the teachings of the Holy Fathers, and the divine liturgy that constitute the heart of Orthodoxy. You can expect to engage in thought-provoking discussions, prayerful reflections, and even some good-natured, holy humor. After all, as the proverb says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine” (Proverbs 17:22).
The esteemed St. Anthony the Great aptly said, “Our life and our death is with our neighbor” (The Sayings of the Desert Fathers, p. 25). True Christian living is centered around community, and I eagerly look forward to building this Christ-centered community with each and every one of you.
Here are some key points to remember as you prepare for the class:
- 1. Prayerful Mindset: Start each session with prayer to prepare your heart and mind for what you are about to learn.
- 2. Active Participation: Come prepared to not only absorb but also to share your thoughts, questions, and reflections.
- 3. Open Heart: This class may challenge some preconceived notions you may have. Keep an open heart and mind as you explore the faith.
- 4. Required Materials: Please use an Orthodox Study Bible (NKJV) and (not required but recommended) write down your reflections, questions, and any pearl of wisdom you’d like to revisit later.
- 5. Class Schedule: Every week on Tuesday at 7PM, by Google Meet (maj-nxnd-whw)
I encourage you to come with an earnest desire to draw closer to God and deepen your understanding of the Orthodox faith. As you take these first steps, remember that you are part of a journey that saints and faithful have walked for millennia.
May your journey be blessed, enlightening, and, yes, even a bit exhilarating!
With love in Christ,
Archpriest Michael Korolev

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” – Colossians 3:16
P.S. If you have any questions or need further clarification, don’t hesitate to reach out. And don’t worry, we won’t quiz you on the Ecumenical Councils—yet! 😉
